The Planning

A wooded back yard setting gave the homeowner a natural backdrop, but no entertaining space, so we worked with the existing trees to come up with a water feature that would provide privacy from surrounding neighbors and a scale that would match the large home features facing the backyard. The client also desired a fire feature so we designed a separate secluded area where one could sit around the fire with a feeling of being in the woods.

The Design

We worked with the existing trees to come up with a water feature that would provide privacy from surrounding neighbors and a scale that would match the large home features facing the backyard. The waterfall cascades water into the pool and stone patios surround the pool and connects the home to the outdoor entertaining areas. A stone pathway meanders beyond into the woods to a secluded fire pit area, providing another entertainment space for the homeowner.

The Construction

We brought in native Oklahoma boulders for the waterfall, and Oklahoma flagstone for the patios and fire pit area. Working within constrains of the existing trees requires attention to detail during construction, and mature plant material was brought in to give a finished look and frames the pool nicely.
