THE PLANNING

A long-neglected backyard with railroad tie retaining walls that were slowly degrading needed a major makeover. The homeowner wanted to include a water feature and pool, with multiple entertainment areas they could use.

THE DESIGN

We used the layout of the yard, and incorporated a waterfall into the design as a retaining wall and to also connect the upper patio area to the pool and lower patio area below.

THE CONSTRUCTION

The waterfall was situated very close to the home; so detailed attention to the construction was imperative while tearing out the existing railroad ties and building the waterfall. The client owns a geothermal company and wanted to include geothermal heating into the pool construction. Philips Color Kinetics lighting provide the homeowner with different mood settings and a Jandy remote control system provide a convenience for pool and spa operations.
