This project truly is a resort in someone’s backyard. This project contains two waterfalls approximately 13 feet tall with a diving rock in between the waterfalls at a height of approximately 8 feet. Adjacent to one of the waterfalls is a man made grotto with two swim thru entrances into the swimming portion of the grotto. The grotto also contains an upper level of dry patio that has a dry entrance from the back side with surround sound speakers as well as an outdoor plasma television. There is a series of stream beds that flow over the top of the cave and spill over the swim thru entrances from the pool. The clients were also willing to allow us to plant a large number of specimen trees around the pool as well as around the back side of the waterfalls and grotto, creating the feeling of being in a forest. This project required a great deal of creativity because there was no specific requests from the client. This is the kind of project that just continued to grow and evolve as the project went along. As we were nearing the completion of the pool, the client informed us that they were adding a pool house, so along with the pool house we incorporated an outdoor shower surrounded by man made rock.

The Planning

The client has a very active young family, involved in various sports activities and wanted a backyard pool that they could interact with and have an entertainment area to host get-togethers for family and friends. They were open to our ideas, so we considered their lifestyle and came up with a plan that would not only keep their family entertained for years to come, but gave them privacy from neighbors. This home is on an 1-1/2 acre open to neighbors on all sides.
