Twin Creek Farms Estate

The Planning

Client had an outdated pool and was open to the idea of coming up with something new that would not block the view of the lake and waterfall we had built for them a couple of years prior. They desired some kind of water feature, and after they swam in our show pool and sat under the waterfall it reminded them of their recent trip to Africa and Victoria Falls. We suggested the grotto, outdoor kitchen, a dry area in the grotto with a plasma television, and connecting the house to the lake with multiple entertainment areas.

The Design

The pool has a 44ʼ x 16ʼ deep end, 34ʼ x 24ʼ shallow end with stone covered zero entry, stone step outs, 900 sq.ft. faux rock grotto with three swim-through waterfalls, a swim-up bar with 4 stools, stone covered floor in the grotto, a dry grotto area with a Sunbrite 46” outdoor plasma television, sound system, kitchen area with a dry entrance to the grotto through a custom door with a speak-easy entrance, natural waterfall with over 70 ton of natural native Oklahoma moss covered boulders. Another natural boulder waterfall cascades form the back side of the grotto into a 260ʼ long streambed that meanders down to multiple entertainment areas with a fire pit, and a patio down by the lake. Fire pit and lakeside patio area includes lighting and sound system that draws people down from the house to the lake and provides multiple entertainment areas. All aspects of the pool, waterfalls, lighting are controlled by Jandy Aqualinks RS remote and Jandy Aqua Link RS OneTouch system.

The Construction

The stream bedʼs power is generated from the back side of the grotto giving the illusion the water comes from the same waterfall as the pool. Approximately 1600 gallons per minute are generated through the stream bed. Property had native oak trees and a 35ʼ elevation drop to the lake area, which required multiple areas of custom dry-laid stone retaining walls and extensive landscaping that would give color year around when the oak trees drop their leaves in the Fall. As amazing as this project is during the day, when evening arrives this entire project takes on a whole new look. The pool, grotto and waterfall have 16-custom programmed Color Kinetics light shows that are synced with the 75ʼ wide x 15ʼ high water feature on the lake below. Extensive up-lighting in the tree canopies and down-lighting to highlight the pathways and landscapes provide a magical environment and a retreat for the homeowner.

Testimonial: “We knew Kelly Caviness from a previous project and liked his unique style of pool and patio design. He and his entire team are easy to work with, open to communication, and willing to consider suggestions or changes to a project.

We desired a natural look that would complement our home’s architecture and to feature a one-of-a-kind pool with a swim-up bar, cave/grotto, and TV area. We also wanted to utilize the topography of the land and to tie into the lake setting below. The results turned out better than I ever imagined.

We love the waterfall and swim-up bar and cave. On a hot day, it’s the perfect spot to get out of the direct sun for a cool drink and to watch a favorite TV program. And, since maintenance is easy, we can enjoy our pool more. We are happy with our three skimmers, Aqualinks control systems, Stealth pumps, 7.5 horse EQ pumps for the waterfalls, and the Color Kinetic lighting system.

There is no cookie cutter approach from Caviness. If you are looking for something unique with a natural setting and is out-of-the-ordinary, there is no other pool company in central Oklahoma that has the vision to bring your ideas to reality.
