Kelly Caviness

Owner/Principal Designer:

Kelly Caviness attended what is now the University of Central Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University.  He is a member of the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals and the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, as well as an affiliate member of the American Society of Landscape Architecture.

Married to his wife Kathy for 41 years, he has the additional blessing of his two sons and two daughter-in-laws as well as two grandchildren.  His sons Cameron and Christian, have joined the company to be the next generation of Caviness Landscape Design.  Cameron is our Operations Manager and Christian is a Landscape Designer.

In his spare time, you can find Kelly spending time with family including two grandchildren, playing music with friends or traveling.

Kelly is passionate about the arts and is a board member of Allied Arts OKC, supporting local art initiatives to the Oklahoma City metro area.  He is also passionate about fly-fishing and makes at least one annual trip to Colorado among other places to look for the “big one”.

On weekends you can find him with family and friends participating in anything outdoors.   He also is an accomplished musician (originally attending UCO on a full music/jazz scholarship), and loves to play the drums, guitar or trombone with his sons – which is always a time he treasures.

Caviness Landscape Design has built a reputation for quality work with integrity and uncompromising workmanship that resulted in International Awards of Excellence from his peers in the pool and spa industry for each year since 2007.  Caviness has been named as a "Top 50 Pool Builder" by Pool & Spa News for 2014, 2015 & 2016.  Kelly was also chosen as "Ones To Watch" by 405 Magazine in the Fall, 2016 issue.

Kelly and his team star in HGTV/DIY’s "Pool Kings", work has been on HGTV’s “Cool Pools” (2 episodes), Destination America’s “Epic Homes” and has also been published in APSP Quarterly (cover of December/2011)Pool & Spa Outdoor,  Luxury Pools Magazine (cover of Fall/2013 issue), The Affluent PageAQUA MagazineOklahoma Magazine (March, 2022 cover) Design Oklahoma (2010-2011), Slice Magazine, and is in the showcase/portfolio gallery of Phillips International/Color Kinetics, Inc.  Caviness also has been awarded "Best of Houzz" in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021 & 2022.
